From the Ven. Lama Chime Rinpoche, Kagyu Benchen Ling, Todtmoos-Au, Germany

It was only recently that I came to know that this wonderful man had passed away. Ever since we first met in 1966 we kept in contact, especially while I was head of the Tibetan Section in the British Library. Like so many others I was always a most welcome guest in his home in Delhi. I am at a loss for words to describe my gratitude for the immense effort he displayed in preserving the sacred texts of Tibet at a time of such chaos and uncertainty. In this labour of love he immediately embraced the new emerging technologies finally making available these precious texts in a digitised form allowing for quick, easy access and distribution. The sadness and loss is beyond expression and thought. How can Gene ever be replaced?
